Do we still need to add that modeling is best learned at Anima School? 3D Modeling Rendering, 3D Modeling with Zbrush, 3D Modeling with Autodesk and much more at Anima Okul! At that time, you can read our blog post that we have compiled for you to answer the question "What is 3D Modeling and Where Is It Used"!
What is 3D Modeling?
3D modeling is the process of using software to create a mathematical representation of a 3D object or shape. The created object is called a 3D model and these 3D models are used in various industries.
3D models are used to visualize, simulate and render graphic designs in the film, television, video games, architecture, construction, product development, science and medical industries. You can see the results of 3D modeling in movies, animations and video games filled with fantastic and creative creatures and structures.
3D modeling is achieved either manually with custom 3D fabrication software that allows an artist to create and deform polygonal surfaces, or by scanning a set of data points used to digitally represent real-world objects.
How is 3D Modeling Used?
It is used in a wide variety of fields, including engineering, architecture, entertainment, film, special effects, game development and commercial advertising.
A popular example of 3D technology is its use in large motion pictures. Consider the scene in James Cameron's 2009 movie Avatar. The movie helped transform the 3D industry when it used many 3D modeling concepts to create the movie's planet, Pandora.
Is 3D Modeling Difficult to Learn?
3D modeling is fun but challenging. Unlike many graphic arts fields, it has a significant learning curve and involves building complex software. But nothing is difficult if it is thought about and practiced!
Which 3D Modeling Software Is Used?
3D modeling software allows you to design basic character or object models. Full-featured programs provide the tools you need to detail your designs in realistic detail. There are many 3D modeling software programs on the market. The most preferred programs are as follows:
AutoCAD: AutoCAD was doing 3D long before it became popular. This professional commercial software was released in 1982 and is considered the gold standard by many designers. It is generally used in the architecture industry. It is available for Windows and macOS operating systems.
Autodesk Maya: Maya software provides 3D modeling, animation, simulation and rendering tools on an extensible production platform. It is mostly used in architectural field.
ZBrush: ZBrush from Pixologic incorporates clay sculpting techniques into its pro-grade software. ZBrush works are also referred to as digital sculpting.
Autodesk 3DS Max: It is popular with video game developers and visual effects artists. These features require extensive training to be proficient in software, animation, and engineering. 3DS Max works with Windows.
SketchUp: SketchUp is a 3D program for designers with some experience in 3D modeling. It specializes in architectural structures and is often used to visualize architecture, interior design, urban planning, engineering and construction. It is available for Windows and macOS operating systems.
Blender: Blender is free open source 3D modeling software suitable for creating animated movies, visual effects, art, interactive applications and video games. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems.
